Thanks for stopping by! The Retro Attic is your 24/7 listener-supported internet radio guide to the 50's through the 70's. We play lost and classic top 40 hits, but we also place a heavy emphasis on the minor charters and non-charters...or as we call them, bottom 45's. Special Mixcloud shows will be announced as time permits. If you have a general suggestion, then please use our chat widget in the lower right corner or the below contact form. If you have a song request, then please use the below Song Request Form; your request will be automatically queued for play in 90 minutes if it is already in the station's inventory or else I will receive an e-mail copy of your request. Please read the "New Request Policy" post in the below blog for more information on requests as I have new rules for those who are willing to be sponsors and for those who are non-contributors.

If you appreciate what we do, then please make use of our PayPal buttons on the site. You can donate a one-time amount or choose from 10 monthly subscription amounts; the donations will help enhance our programming and keep us on Live365. THE LATEST NEW ADDS AND WE'RE STILL FIGHTING!

Below is a big list of the latest new adds on The Retro Attic!

We're continuing on. Streamlicensing wants us to forward any mean ASCAP letters to their attorneys, and they stated in a conference call today that they will have our backs in case their dispute with ASCAP goes to trial. Simply put, all of the performing agencies SL is in agreements with were overpaid in royalties for almost the past year due to a technical glitch in the songbase software. All of our stations' commercials, jingles, sweepers and liners were being included in the count. BMI, SESAC and Soundexchange are all being cooperative with the internal audit, but ASCAP ran out of patience. Any monies due ASCAP are currently sitting in an escrow account and will be released to them once an amicable solution is reached(even though, for all intents and purposes, they had been paid all along!). We are supposed to be getting a letter tomorrow that further states SL's intentions and indemnifications for us.

SL has been good to me over the past 3 years, so I'm going to give them a chance to prove themselves. I really think they do have a case. If I feel that it is starting to get "too hot," then I will move on to another outlet.

Please give me until the 10th, and I'll see what I can do about spotlighting Elvis in August(there's a good reason, I'm sure you know). I'm also going to make more of an effort to beef up the 60's hits and there are a bunch of Cashbox "Looking Ahead" and Uni Records singles I want to throw in.

Please make your comments, requests and donations at http://retroatticrareoldiesradio.com. Oh yeah, here is that new adds list:

POTENTIAL CLOSING OF THE RETRO ATTIC ON 2/28?

Unless things drastically turn around in the next several days, The Retro Attic and Awfully Awesome 80's will be shutting their doors at 11 PM eastern on February 28th. It's just not possible for me to continue dealing with a higher licensing cost if I'm taking care of 2/3 to 3/4 of the operating costs every month.

It's not out of the question that I could return one day, and it's also quite possible that I could be back in the short term as an occasional podcaster.

If you can help these stations to survive, then please get in touch with me.
