Thanks for stopping by! The Retro Attic is your 24/7 listener-supported internet radio guide to the 50's through the 70's. We play lost and classic top 40 hits, but we also place a heavy emphasis on the minor charters and non-charters...or as we call them, bottom 45's. Special Mixcloud shows will be announced as time permits. If you have a general suggestion, then please use our chat widget in the lower right corner or the below contact form. If you have a song request, then please use the below Song Request Form; your request will be automatically queued for play in 90 minutes if it is already in the station's inventory or else I will receive an e-mail copy of your request. Please read the "New Request Policy" post in the below blog for more information on requests as I have new rules for those who are willing to be sponsors and for those who are non-contributors.

If you appreciate what we do, then please make use of our PayPal buttons on the site. You can donate a one-time amount or choose from 10 monthly subscription amounts; the donations will help enhance our programming and keep us on Live365. Yes, The Retro Attic is legitimate and pays artist royalties!

SEPTEMBER 2015 SHOWS ON "THE AMERICAN BOTTOM 45" AND FOLLOW ME ON MIXCLOUD!

Here is the upcoming schedule of shows for "The American Bottom 45" on The Retro Attic for September:

Saturday 9/5: Bottom 45s From The 70's. New adds will include Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Brady Bunch, Sugarloaf, Cherie & Marie Currie, Sutherland Brothers And Quiver, Stillwater, Jamul, etc. Get your requests in now!

Saturday 9/12: Adult Contemporary/Easy Listening #1s That Never Made The Top 40(Along With Some That Did). There were only a select few that totally qualified for AB45, so I will break the rules this time and add in a few bonafide crossover hits to make this show more complete. Let's face it, the soft rock that most of us knew and loved is almost non-existent on oldies radio these days; it will be back on the 12th!

Saturday 9/19: Awfully Awesome Eighties. This will be another preview of my upcoming 3rd station that focuses mainly on those MTV bands that didn't quite make it. The station will include a lot of MTV hits, but this 9/19 show puts the spotlight on minor charters and non-charters(Kings Of The Sun, Total Coelo, Box Of Frogs, The Screaming Tribesmen, Headpins, etc.).

Saturday 9/26: 60's-80's Artists Who Had At Least Two Chart Entries, But Never Hit The Top 40. One example would be a highly revered 80's AOR band that gave Eddie Money a top 10 hit.

Come join our Facebook group at http://facebook.com/groups/theamericanbottom45 and get ready for some fine listening this month!

These shows will be made available on Mixcloud. And speaking of Mixcloud, there will also be some AB45 exclusives on there...the top 15 bottom 45s for this week in ____. Even bottom 45s deserve some love, and now they can feel like they were popular after all! This will be a cool way to kick back for 45 to 60 minutes! Details will be coming soon; please feel free to follow me at http://mixcloud.com/gilbert-matthews so that you can get notified about my upcoming uploads.

Today is All Request Day in the AB45 group for airplay on The Retro Attic, so if you have a favorite minor charter or non-charter that you would like to hear, then pass it along!
